A Message of Hope

The Plan of
Salvation

The most important message you will ever read. Not a religion, not a set of rules — a relationship. Here is what the Bible says about who we are, what we need, and what God has done about it.

“For God so loved the world…” — John 3:16

Step One

We All Fall Short

The Bible is honest about the human condition. Before we can understand why Jesus came, we need to understand the problem He came to solve. Every person — regardless of how good they try to be — has sinned and stands separated from a holy God.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 3:23  —  NIV

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 6:23  —  NIV

Sin has a price — and that price is separation from God, both in this life and eternally. But Romans 6:23 doesn’t end with bad news. It pivots to the most extraordinary offer ever made: a free gift. That gift is what the rest of this page is about.

Step Two

God’s Answer

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16  —  NIV

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8  —  NIV

God did not wait for us to clean ourselves up. He sent His Son while we were still in our sin. That is grace — love that we did not earn and cannot lose by failing to earn it. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, took the punishment we deserved so we would not have to bear it.

Step Three

Jesus Is the Way

Salvation is not found in being good enough, performing religious rituals, or following a moral code. The Bible is clear: the path to God runs through one Person.

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”

John 14:6  —  NIV

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12  —  NIV

This is not exclusion — it is an invitation. The door is open. Jesus did not come to condemn the world but to save it (John 3:17). The question is whether we will walk through.

Step Four

Your Response

God has done His part. Now He invites yours. The Bible outlines a clear response — not to earn salvation, but to receive it.

01
Hear

Faith begins by hearing. You cannot respond to a message you have never received. Reading this page is an act of hearing. God’s Word goes out and does not return empty.

“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”
Romans 10:17

02
Believe

Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead. This is not blind faith — it is trust placed in a Person and in what He has done.

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6

03
Repent

Repentance is a change of mind that leads to a change of direction. It means turning away from sin and turning toward God — not perfection, but an honest turning of the heart. God requires it of every person.

“In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.”
Acts 17:30

04
Confess

Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. This is a public declaration of allegiance — acknowledging before God and others that Jesus is who He says He is and that He is now the Lord of your life.

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9

05
Be Baptized

Baptism by immersion is your public, physical act of obedience and identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. It does not save you — faith does — but it is the response God calls new believers to make as an outward sign of the inward change. It is a beautiful and meaningful step.

“Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”
Acts 2:38

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
Romans 6:3–4

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:13  —  NIV

A Prayer of Salvation

Speak these words from your heart

Lord Jesus, I come to You today acknowledging that I am a sinner. I know that my sin has separated me from You, and I am sorry. I believe that You are the Son of God, that You died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins, and that God raised You from the dead.

I turn away from my sins right now and I turn to You. I invite You into my heart and my life as my Lord and Savior. Take control of my life. Make me the person You created me to be.

I trust You with my past, my present, and my future. Thank You for Your grace, Your forgiveness, and the eternal life You have promised to all who believe.

Amen.

If you prayed that prayer sincerely, the Bible says you are now a child of God. Welcome to the family. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

What’s Next

Now That You’ve Said Yes

Salvation is the beginning, not the destination. Here are the next three steps every new believer should take.

01
Read the Bible

Start with the Gospel of John — it is the clearest portrait of who Jesus is and what He came to do. Then read Acts to see how the early church was born. A simple daily reading habit will transform your life more than anything else.

02
Find a Church

You were not designed to walk this road alone. Find a Bible-teaching church where people genuinely love God and one another. Be baptized if you have not been. Tell someone what happened to you today — confession is powerful.

03
Talk to God Daily

Prayer is simply conversation with your Father. You do not need special words or formal language. Be honest, be grateful, and ask for help. He hears every word. The relationship you just started is meant to grow, every single day.

I attend Southview Christian Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. If you’re in the area and looking for a place to belong, you are welcome to join us. And if you have questions about what you read on this page, feel free to reach out — I’m glad to talk.
